Central Diploma Register

Purpose of the VCA Central Diploma Register

By taking part in the SCC exam, you have agreed that your details for the course(s) you have passed will be included in the Central Diploma Register. The purpose of this is to enable employers/clients to verify that you have the necessary (safety) qualifications for a particular job/task. If the employer/client cannot verify this, you may be denied access to the job or site.

More specifically, the Belgian Central Diploma Register SCC is intended for verification of a diploma number, name of a graduate or validity of a diploma for the qualifications Basic Safety SCC, Safety for Operational Supervisors SCC, Safety for Intermediates and Supervisors SCC and Risky Tasks. For clients, SCC-certified contractors and SCC auditors, the entry in the diploma register is proof that the employee has obtained a valid SCC diploma.

You can consult the Central Diploma Register SCC to:

- As an employer, check whether one of your employees or prospective employees does in fact hold a valid diploma in Basic Safety SCC, Safety for Operational Supervisors SCC, Safety for Intermediaries and Supervisors VCU or Risky Tasks;
- as a client, verify that the employees of contractors who come to perform work for you do hold valid qualifications;
- prove as a (future) employee that you hold a valid diploma;
- as an SCC auditor, verify that the employees of the company to be certified hold a valid diploma.

FAQ

1. Which diplomas are included in the Belgian Central Diploma Register?

From 1 January 2010, all diplomas issued by Belgian recognised examination centres are automatically included in the Belgian Central Diploma Register (CDR). Diplomas issued before this date were also included. These data are currently being further completed and verified. Eventually, all diplomas awarded by Belgian accredited examination centres (B/VOL/VIL or RT) issued and still valid diplomas are included. Only official diplomas are/are included in the Central Diploma Register. In case of doubt, only the examination centre that issued the diploma is authorised to confirm the validity or provide a possible duplicate. 2. How do I use the Belgian Central Diploma Register?

You have 2 search options via the search screen. You can search by diploma number or you can search by personal details, whereby both the name and the date of birth must be entered. Please note: for diplomas awarded before 1 January 2009, a search result by diploma number is not guaranteed because not all numbers awarded in that period were absolutely unique. It is not possible to obtain lists of diploma holders via the Diploma Register. In principle, each search yields only one result.

3. My details on my diploma and/or in the Central Diploma Register are not correct. How can I have this corrected?

As a graduate, you always have access to your data and can check it for accuracy.
If there is an error in your details or on your diploma (e.g. wrong spelling of name, wrong date of birth, etc.) you can always have it corrected via the recognised examination centre that issued the diploma. To obtain a corrected diploma, however, you will have to hand in the old one.

4. I have lost my diploma, what should I do?

The diploma is a value document that is awarded once. If you unexpectedly lose the diploma, an entry in the Central Diploma Register is normally sufficient. If you still need to be able to show a diploma to your employer or client, you can request a duplicate. Only the recognised examination centre (B/VOL/VIL or RT) that issued the original diploma can issue a duplicate under the financial conditions of this centre. 5. I cannot find my diploma details in the Central Diploma Register or my details in the register are incorrect. How is this possible and what can I do about it?

If you have obtained a diploma but are not or not correctly listed in the Central Diploma Register, please contact the recognised examination centre (B/VOL/VIL or RT) that delivered the diploma. There is also a "Diploma missing" button. There you can report it directly to us! 6. Who manages the Central Diploma Register?

The data are entered by the examination centre where the person concerned took the examination. This centre can also correct/adjust the data if necessary. The non-profit association Contractor Safety Management is responsible for the technical framework and integrity of the database.

The Central Diploma Register cannot be used by third parties to extract personal data from it. However, third parties can use a specific diploma or the name and date of birth of one of their (candidate) employees and/or employees of their contractors to check whether that person has an SCC diploma.
